Virginia votes “yes” to redistrict in nationwide redistricting “war”
Virginia voters, vote yes to redistricting. The decision, a response to the presidents urging of red states to redraw their districts to favor republicans, will redraw Virginia’s congressional districts in favor of Democrats. In 2030, the congressional districts are to return to how they have traditionally been decided, using information gained from the census. A majority of voters in every county and municipality in our region voted “no” on the referendum. Our region also remains generally unchanged, as all of our counties will remain in District 9.
