Governor Lee signs law to address “drink spiking” at bars and restaurants
TN Governor Bill Lee has signed multiple laws into effect following this year’s session of the General Assembly. One of those laws would address drink spiking at bars and restaurants. The new law would require businesses licensed to sell alcohol to keep drink-testing devices available for customers who suspect their drink may have been spiked. The new change will bring new training for staff and customers. Businesses will also be required to post a notice informing customers that the device is available. The new law will go into effect on July 1.
