Two people facing child sexual exploitation and vandalism charges in Carter County

Two people in Carter County face child sexual exploitation and vandalism charges after an investigation from last month. Investigators said 28-year-old Craig Estep admitted to writing graphic, sexual, and derogatory messages found at recreational sites, including around Watauga Lake. Deputies said a search of 28-year-old Jessica Russell’s phone also uncovered child sexual abuse material. Both remain in jail and more charges are pending.
