Man arrested and charged with malicious wounding after altercation with deputy
A man has been charged after injuring a Grayson County deputy with a knife during an arrest last week. The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office said on Wednesday, June 24, a deputy went to the area of Adder Lane in Fries, Virginia, to serve a warrant on a man identified as Thurman Elder White. The deputy noticed White’s vehicle parked in the driveway and was told White had just fled the home. The deputy saw White running up a hill, caught up to him and told him he was under arrest. The report says this when White pulled a knife out of his pocket. The deputy then deployed his stun gun, which had no effect, and White then swung the knife at the deputy, injuring him on his hand and arm. The deputy was able to subdue White and place him in handcuffs and he is now facing multiple charges including aggravated malicious wounding and felony eluding. He’s being held without bond and the officer has been treated and released.
