Bristol VA considers special permitting for data center construction

The Bristol Virginia City Council is considering an ordinance that would require data centers to obtain a special use permit before building in the city. Council held a public hearing and the first reading of the proposed ordinance during its meeting this week. A second reading is scheduled for the council’s Sept. 8 meeting. If approved, the ordinance would add an additional review process for any future data center proposal in Bristol.
