KPD looking for suspects after failed robbery attempt

Kingsport police are searching for two men accused of attempting to rob another man near a traffic circle Thursday morning. An off-duty Sullivan County deputy saw the incident around 7:45 a.m. near Gibson Mill Road, East Ravine Road and Watauga Street. Two men, one armed with a large stick, one with what appeared to be a metal pipe, attempting to rob another man. The deputy intervened before anyone was injured, police said. The suspects ran and were later identified as 35-year-old Justin Roberts and 26-year-old William Burk. Warrants have been obtained charging Roberts and Burk with aggravated robbery. Both men considered dangerous. Anyone who sees them should call 911 and should not approach.
