Governor puts plans into motion to name Nashville’s airport after Dolly
After years of debate and petitions, Governor Lee and the Nashville International Airport plan to order a resolution to change its name to honor the late Dolly Parton.
Lee said his team spoke with the Parton family about the proposal, saying they were honored and want talks to continue. Lee said at a place where the state welcomes world travelers, a great representative would be Tennessee’s favorite daughter.
The Nashville Metro Airport Authority will discuss the plan at their meeting September 17th.
