Traffic Alert: Work on Morristown highway to repair power lines
Repairs on power lines and poles along the Andrew Johnson Highway near Route 25E and Norfolk Street will be extended into Thursday night and Friday morning.
An update from Morristown officials said erecting the materials has taken longer than expected and safety crews will need that extra time for completion.
The city report said drivers need to anticipate delays if they travel on or near those highways in the evening and morning hours.

A statement issued by the City of Morristown says a highway route will have periodic stops and workers present throughout the day due to downed power lines.
The report said an incident from Thursday morning ended with lines across the highway and poles knocked down on East Andrew Johnson Highway between Norfolk and Route 25E.
The lines were brought down by a crane located on nearby railroad tracks, according to city officials, and the roadway will be completely closed at times with detours put in place.
They are working to get the repairs completed by 5 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
