Eastman Teaming Up To Make Thousands Of Medical Face Shields
Kingsport’s Eastman Chemical Company and Pen Company of America are teaming up to produce tens of thousands of all important faceshields for medical personnel on the frontlines of the Coronavirus pandemic. Rotuba, Pen Company of America will use Eastman’s cellulose acetate to create 75 to 100 thousand splash guards per week to protect healthcare workers. Cellulose acetate is a versatile material used in a variety of consumer products and provides the necessary optical quality, chemical resistance and is easily shaped for application. Eastman will continue to work with companies across the value chain to quickly adapt their operations to meet unmet needs during this crisis.
