VSP: Man arrested for Saltville homicide over the weekend

Virginia State Police are investigating a homicide and a possible domestic incident. It happened Saturday evening in Saltville in Smyth County. VSP was notified by Saltville Police around 11 p.m. Saturday night of a stabbing in the 100 block of Daydream Ridge Road. VSP said a female died at the scene and 31 year old, Daniel Baptiste, has been charged with murder and use of a weapon in the commission of a felony. Baptiste is being held at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail.
