Va Dept of Energy awards nearly $2 Million to Buchanan County Industrial Development Authority

The Virginia Department of Energy has awarded a nearly $2 million grant to the Buchanan County Industrial Development Authority to fund a commercial office space. Congressman Morgan Griffith’s office announced Thursday that a check for the Abandoned Mine Land Economic Revitalization (AMLER) program grant, in the amount of one point nine five million, was presented to county leaders in Grundy. The funds will help pay for the construction of two-story commercial office space in Southern Gap. The AMLER award was first announced in January 2024. AMLER projects typically focus on improving infrastructure and redeveloping sites.
