Boone Dam recreation area to temporarily close for field trip April 30

The Boone Dam recreation area will be closed to the public for part of the day on April 30, according to the Tennessee Valley Authority. The TVA said public access to the parking and recreation areas at the dam will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. During that time, an estimated 100 students from four area elementary schools will be at the site for a field trip and tour. Signs noting the temporary closure will be posted off of State Route 75 and at the entrance gate to the dam reservation.
