Construction underway for JCMC emergency department expansion

Ballad Health announced that construction is underway on a major expansion of the emergency department at Johnson City Medical Center. The $72 million project is adding more space, new technology, and additional capacity for pediatric, adult, and trauma care. Ballad said the expansion is designed to help meet the growing healthcare needs across the region. The project will be completed in phases through next year to limit disruptions for patients and visitors.
