VDOT to suspend work zones during July 4th 250 holiday weekend

America’s 250th anniversary is fast approaching and as part of VDOT’s annual July Fourth holiday travel accommodations, many highway work zones will be suspended and temporary lane closures on interstates and other major roads will be lifted from noon on Thursday, July 2 until noon on Monday, July 6. While lane closures will be lifted in most locations, motorists may encounter semi-permanent work zones that remain in place.
