Bristol Motor Speedway to host Slammedenuff Car Show in October

Bristol is shifting into high gear as the Slammedenuff Car Show prepares to roll into Bristol Motor Speedway the weekend of October 3 and 4. But as thousands of custom cars approach the Tri-Cities, safety and crowd control are taking center stage. The event made headlines last year when disturbances caused officials in Sevierville to cancel the show’s final day. To prevent a repeat, organizers say they are prioritizing strict crowd control measures this time around. The Bristol Tennessee Police Department is working alongside a massive regional coalition, including agencies from Bristol, Virginia, Johnson City, Kingsport, and Sullivan County, to heavily monitor event traffic. Organizers have also established track-sanctioned pre- and post-meets on speedway property. Bristol officials say that any reckless or unlawful behavior will not be tolerated.
