JC Commission approves property tax relief match for vulnerable homeowners
Vulnerable homeowners are getting some extra financial relief this week. The Johnson City Commission has officially approved a one-hundred-and-twenty-nine-dollar local property tax relief match for the 2026 tax year. This new local program stacks directly on top of the state’s program. It is designed specifically to assist low-income elderly homeowners, disabled homeowners, and disabled veterans. If you already received Tennessee state property tax relief last year, there is no need to reapply—the city will automatically process your local match.
