Costly court ruling in court case involving doctor and healthcare group
A legal battle between a local healthcare group and a former doctor has ended in a costly court ruling. An arbitrator has ordered Dr. James Joslyn to pay back more than $145 thousand to State of Franklin Healthcare Associates. Dr. Joslyn resigned in 2025 after speaking out about the group’s financial troubles, claiming the company’s fee structure forced him into hundreds of thousands of dollars into debt despite working increased hours. While the court ordered the partial payback, it denied State of Franklin Healthcare Associates push for an unspecified larger amount, as well as the company’s request to seal the court records. State of Franklin Healthcare Associates can still appeal the decision.
